Serves as a Director and Principal Consultant at ETC Consulting. He is an agriculturalist, rural development specialist and researcher with a Ph. D. from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. He has worked as a development consultant, project management specialist and researcher with over 30 years of experience covering the public sector (Ministry of Agriculture), Civil Society (CINS, Mercy Corps, International Center for Research on Women -ICRW), and private sector (ETC Consulting and Lake Turkana Wind Power).

Holds a PhD in Climatology from McGill University in Canada. He is currently a Principal Consultant at ETC Consulting Limited responsible for the Climate change and Water portfolio. He is a seasoned environment / development consultant and practitioner with particular interest in the nexus between water resources, agriculture / food security, climate change, poverty, and sustainable development. He has a 25 years track record of successful implementation of projects in partnership with international development agencies (e.g. UNDP, Global Environment Facility – GEF, and the World Bank), African Governments, National and International Civil Society Organizations and the Private Sector.

He holds a doctorate in Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development, MSc Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development, MSc Quantitative Research Methods and MSc Social Research and Evaluation, integrating the disciplines with applied statistics and data analytics in trans-disciplinary studies. Davies has over 30 years’ experience as a consultant with a portfolio of activities spanning diverse African countries, working at the interface between biophysical and social sciences.

Financial Management Specialist with over twenty-five years’ experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Finance and Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) and since 2010, has been in charge of the ETC Consulting Finance Department, overseeing company financial management function, tax planning and auditing processes, as well as handling routine accounting functions.
